PIHO DIRECTORS               ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP

ZACH ROBERTS

PRESIDENT & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

As President and Chief Executive Officer, Zach Roberts' responsibilities include general oversight, supervision, and evaluation of the overall operation of the Organization - and the performance of all Directors and Officials.


Zach officiated professional hockey for nearly two decades in the American Hockey League and ECHL before retiring in 2022. During his career, he was selected to officiate multiple AHL Calder Cup Playoff series, numerous ECHL Kelly Cup Playoff series, the 2017 CCM ECHL All-Star Classic, and the 2021 ECHL Outdoor Winterfest.


Zach also officiated NCAA Division I Men's hockey for over twenty years in the Big Ten, Central Collegiate Hockey Association, ECAC, and Atlantic Hockey Conferences. Additionally, he also officiated Canadian major-junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League.


Zach was a member of USA Hockey's Officiating Development Program (ODP), working multiple USA Hockey Junior National Championships. During his time with the ODP, Zach was selected to attend USA Hockey's Regional and National Officiating Development Camps.


Zach is a native of the Pittsburgh, PA area. He attended Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School and earned his Bachelor's & Master's Degrees in Business Administration from South University.


Zach and his wife Jaime reside in Murrysville, PA with their son, Connor, and daughters, Riley and Reagan.

CHADD COLIN

VICE PRESIDENT & CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER


As Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Chadd Colin is responsible for member creation, current member retention, coordination and management of all feedback to the organization from its officials, maintain Pennsylvania State Act-15 Clearance Records for all PIHO Officials, and general daily oversight of the Organization.


Chadd currently officiates NCAA hockey in the ECAC and UCHC, junior hockey in the NAHL for USA Hockey's Officiating Development program, and professional hockey in the ECHL.  


His prior officiating experience includes junior hockey in the CHA, EJHL, IJHL, and UJHL.  Additionally, he has officiated multiple USA Hockey Tier I & Tier II State, District, and National Championships.


He and his wife, Robin, currently reside in Wexford, PA with their son, Owen, and daughter Clare.

ED MILLER

CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

As the Chief Information Officer, Ed Miller is responsible to confirm game schedules with all PIHO's clients to maintain consistent accuracy throughout each week of the hockey season across the tri-state area. He is also responsible to schedules PIHO Officiating Managers and Officiating Development Coaches to receive feedback on the performance of PIHO on-ice officials.


Ed has officiated amateur, scholastic and collegiate hockey for over twenty years. Ed is also a current staff member of the Pittsburgh Elite Officiating Camps and a member of the USA Hockey Seminar Instruction Staff. Throughout his career, he has also been selected to officiate multiple USA Hockey Pennsylvania State Tournaments, Mid-American District Tournaments, and USA Hockey National Tournaments.

 Ed, his wife Chrissey, and son Edward currently reside in Pittsburgh, PA.

DAVE FRYER

COLLEGE HOCKEY COORDINATOR

As PIHO's College Hockey Coordinator, Dave Fryer is responsible to streamline communication between PIHO and the multiple ACHA conferences for which the organization supplies on-ice officials throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. 


Dave is currently the Commissioner of College Hockey Mid-America (ACHA Division I) and College Hockey East (Divisions 2, 3 & 4). He is also the current Executive Administrator for the Pittsburgh Amateur Hockey League. 


Dave has been a USA Hockey official for over twenty years and has instructed at many USA Hockey Camps and District Officiating Seminars. Dave currently resides in Oakdake, PA.
